We would like to invite all emergency medicine residents in the State of Michigan to the Michigan Regional Wilderness Medicine Rounds.  It will be held Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 9:00am to 2:00pm at the Nichols Arboretum, Ann Arbor and will be hosted by the University of Michigan.  The sessions will be available for FAWM credits (Fellowship of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine) and it is free to attend.  This is part of a regional lecture series on wilderness medicine that rotates among residencies in the State of Michigan and is held at various locations.

The lecturers will be:

  • Soft Tissue Injuries and Contusions – Mary Eddy, UM
  • Submersion Injuries – Brian Holowecky, DMC
  • Snake Bites – Joe Betcher, UM
  • Chronic Diarrhea in the Returned Traveler, and Antibiotic Choice – Ashley Pavlic, UM
  • Animal Attacks – Tara Byrne, Genesys Health
  • Injuries from Mountain Biking – Joe Betcher, UM
