I have had the pleasure of serving on the American Osteopathic Association’s (AOA) Board of Trustees for the last year and been actively involved with the ongoing process to have a Joint Acceditation process between the AOA and the ACGME.

TO ALL OF MY OSTEOPATHIC OLLEGES, RESIDENTS, AND STUDENTS OF WHOM I HAVE RESPRESENTED: I CAN SAY WHOLE-HEARTEDLY THAT THE AOA HAS ACTED APPROPRIATELY AND IN OUR (ALL OSTEOPATHS) BEST INTERESTS. In fact, i can honestly report that i have never been more trusting of an administrative body in my life! Our AOA Leadership has a goal and direction and that is to be ahead of the curve and advance the distinctive philosophy and practice of osteopathic medicine.

The AOA recently released a letter addressing this hot topic and you can get more information by clicking here to link to the ACGME Update section of the Osteopathic.org website and and you can also read the letter from Dr Ray Stowers (the President of the AOA here as well)
